1. My dad's birthday was today. It was really fun.
2. Halloween was on Wednesday. It was reeeally fun. I'll do a separate post on it later.
3. Grades were finalized on Wednesday, and I got straight A's for the term. Yay, me.
4. It was the last week of every other day of early morning practice. Next week, it's every day. Wish me luck.
5. It was a good week, even though nothing happened.
Yes, this is a minute post, but hopefully I'll remember what happened and post about it later.
The upside-down perspective of a music-obsessed, wanderlust filled bookworm and bunhead. The sky is falling, and my head is in the clouds.

Late Friday Favorites
1. I had my birthday on Tuesday. I posted about my amazingly fabulous day earlier. Happy reading!
2. It was fun wearing my new shoes and clothes all week. I got a lot of compliments, and it was fun being able to mix and match.
3. I ate a lot of sugary things this week. It was true bliss.
4. I have fabulous friends who love to have fun as much as I do.
5. I love finding random pictures on Google. It's fabulous.
6. I love guys that will lend you their pencil the second you make a comment that you can't find yours.
7. I love Enes Kanter's biceps.
8. I went to an International Cinema movie with my friends on Friday. It was really fun.
9. My family went out yesterday after watching General Conference. We ate lunch and dinner at Whole Foods, my mom's favorite nutty, hippie organic store that has surprisingly good food and a wide buffet selection. Then, we went to the Utah Jazz scrimmage in between. It was super fun, and the Jazz Bear was absolutely hilarious. Sadly, we had to leave a little early to get home and eat dinner on time, so I had to be torn away from Enes Kanter's biceps. He's really beefed up, by the way. He's really buff. Unlike in the picture two above... Sorry, where was I? Oh, yes.
10. I love Color Me Katie. My friend's been following it, and I just recently discovered it. I'm hooked. She's so creative, it's crazy.
11. I love crazy socks.
12. I love colored bubbles.
The End.
3 days to San Francisco!!!

Three Weeks Worth of Favorites
1. My family was in town. ALL of it. Yes, this was because my grandpa died unexpectedly, which is NOT a favorite at all, but it was still nice to be together.
2. I am well on my way with my bug project, in which I have to catch and pin 50 bugs. Ugh.
3. I performed at a football game and an assembly. Our performances were great.
4. Timpview's football team slaughtered Maple Mountain's, about 38-7. There's a pretty clear difference there. Also, as a warning to all of you, Maple Mountain boys are WEIRD. Seriously.
5. I have yet to die from every other day 6:00 (in the morning. Eek!) practices. This is an accomplishment.
6. I got a new pair of pants and a dress. They are super cute!
7. San Fran (I'm going to begin doing a countdown with each post) is in
18 days!

Well, So Much For That
Forgot to dish. I've had such an eventful couple weeks... But, I promise, on Friday, I will dish! Also, I'm going to add a weekly quote on to the quota. Huh. That sounds weird. But anyway, enough of me. Let's let Dr. Seuss speak.
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind" --Dr. Seuss
I love this quote, because it reminds me of what I often forget. I, in case you hadn't noticed, am painfully shy. Painfully. Thus, I have a lot of time, in the absence of a social life, to reminisce, and gaze in retrospect at my horde of faux pas. It's startling, humbling, and self-deprecating all in one. But what I need to focus on isn't "improving" myself into something I'm not, but concentrating myself into something even more intensely me. The people who truly are worth it won't care, and those who do care, well, screw them!
Sorry for my rambling and musing. And, shamefully, ranting. I apologize.

Just a Clarification
Due to all that is happening this week, (which I will explain tomorrow) I will have to postpone my Friday Favorites until tomorrow. Then, I will dish. Stick around. We'll be right back.

Friday Favorites
1. I have survived two weeks of high school with no noticeable injuries or qualms about going for another week.
2. I have also survived waking up at 5:00 in the morning for Drill practice three days this week. We'll see how I do next week. It might not be quite so fun.
3. I really love all my classes. Especially Drill and Drama. Even Math isn't so bad this year. I love my new teacher. It's her first year, and she's really young, and a great teacher.
4. I have proved my resourcefulness in creating outfits with nearly a moment's notice. Certainly a valuable skill to have.
5. I have survived walking home this week. That alone is accomplishment enough for the entire week.
6. I currently have straight A's, including a 109% in Math. I'm not exactly sure why, but I'll take it.
That's all.

Friday Favorites
1. My mother finally has "teeth." It's great, because now they're the right color. I can almost take her seriously. Almost.
2. I went to a party on Saturday. It was fabulous. We ate pizza, played something called Coup that I didn't entirely understand, but involved throwing sticks at wooden posts, played Apples to Apples, ate a bunch of candy, ate ice-cream sundaes, and watched 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' outside. It's actually quite funny, and if I ever post "What the cuss?" in something, don't ask.
3. Dance switched to 3:30 in the afternoon instead of waaay early in the morning. It was glorious. Except for the fact that yesterday, the fire alarm rang (the school was testing it) and we thought it was real and had to go out to the football field and practice there briefly. I almost got a piece of fake turf in my eye when I did a double turn.
4. It was the last free week before school starts again. I'm just glad that it was free. It was wonderful.
5. I am getting reeeeally excited for San Francisco. And I mean, really.
6. We don't have to have dance practice at 6:00 in the morning next week. Yessss!
7. I don't have to hear my mom nagging my little brother to wiggle his tooth anymore. And I do believe that we won the familial competition, which was Bud vs. my cousin. Double yessss!
8. This is a longer list than usual. I may be able to rack up some more items from my poor overworked brain, but we'll see. I should probably add the fine print, now.

*This list is subject to change at any time, in any way, shape, or form. Bear with me. There was really no point in this fine print. It's mainly here to look cool and official. Sorry for anyone with strained eyes.

Friday Favorites
I've been neglecting my Friday Favorites. Again. I'm not going to have much to write about this week, but oh, well.
1. Dance started up again.
2. We had two fundraisers for the dance team's San Fran trip this week. One was simple: host a martial arts competition. We didn't have to do a thing. The other one was quite a bit harder. We had a dance clinic for younger children. We had to teach them two dances, one jazz, and one hip hop. My group had to teach the six and seven year olds. They were reeeally energetic.
3. I am going to an awesome party tonight.
4. I won a book review competition. I'll be getting $25 and some jelly beans. You can read my reviews here.
5. I have saved up a lot of money for San Francisco. Yesss!
That's all.

Friday Favorites
Not much to post this week either. Hmmm... Let's think.
1. I invented a series of Harry Potter quizzes for fun. So far, I'm in Ravenclaw, my wand is composed of spruce and unicorn hair, is 14 1/2 inches, and is completely unyielding, and the character I most resemble is Hermione Granger. Fun. Maybe I'll post my quizzes here, and you can post your answers in the comments section and then I can grade them for you... I'm getting carried away.
2. We traveled to Aspen Grove on Tuesday. It was Western night, and they had a whole cowboy village with little surprises hidden in it, snow cones, hatchet throwing, gun shooting, and a lot of other random little Western games. It was strangely reminiscent of the ranch, and a lot of fun. Doubtless my mother will post about it.
3. I just devoured a delicious, warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie. Yum!
4. I got to eat waffles with ice-cream for breakfast this week. A delicious combination. We don't have a waffle iron, so we went to our grandma's house to have the waffles. YUM!
5. Last night, I watched a particularly good episode of Psych. Detective O'Hara finally stopped dressing in beige suits! It was fabulous.
6. This was technically last Saturday, but Ginger and I were able to babysit our twin cousins. It was really fun, and surprisingly easy. Basically, we got to go to their house, eat dinner, try Dr. Pepper for the first time, eat some snacks that they had set aside for us, play with some babies, put them to bed, watch TV for the rest of the night, and then get paid for it! I'm not complaining, for sure. I did tell my aunt she didn't need to pay us, though, so I'm not that much of a greedy monster...
Anyway, it was an okay week, all in all.

Friday Favorites
I feel like such a procrastinator. Bad, bad me. I'll try to post every week from now on.
1. This week, we went to the library. I got a lot of new books to read. It's kept me very happy.
2. I went to "boot camp" with my mom and did a workout. It wasn't bad.
3. I went to Coldstone Creamery with my Young Women's group. It was delicious.
4. Also, we went to a pizzeria at an outdoor mall nearby for dinner yesterday. It was also delicious. Then we walked around, checked out some stores, and I got to check out this new boutique they recently installed. It's my type of place, for sure.
That's all. This week was surprisingly ho-hum.

Saturday Favorites
- Last week I was able to attend dance camp Monday through Wednesday. It was totally exhausting, but super fun. I think I put in at least 38 1/2 hours of dance in just those three days of the week.
- After dance camp, we headed out the door for a dude ranch vacation. It was really fun, but I inherited a nickname that I'll never hear the end of. I'd post it, but then it would reveal my true identity, and we wouldn't want that, now would we?
- When we got home after vacationing, about half of our extended relatives came to stay with us. Well, down the street, anyway. We got to spend a lot of time with them, and it was really fun.
- Yesterday my cousins and I embarked on a short expedition to a nearby reservoir, with a little river leading into it. There were some shallow waters for wading, and we all took our shoes off, rolled up our pants, and walked in. We stayed there for a couple hours. I had to give a couple of muddy kids piggy backs and rescue them from what the little kids dubbed as "quicksand" but what was really just soupy mud, but it was still really fun.
- Yesterday we also attended a picnic/potluck at a park, with our family and some old family friends. It was fun, except for the fact that I went home early and missed seeing Spiderman. My uncle ended up going with just my other cousin instead of with both of us, but oh, well. It was fun anyway.

Friday Favorites
Okay, so, admittedly I've kind of slacked off for the past few weeks. I've been so busy, I haven't had the time to post.
1. I've had dance practice for the past 2 weeks. 4 hours a day, 4 days a week. That's a whopping 16 hours per week. 32 hours so far, and counting. Despite sore muscles and exhaustion, it's been super fun.
2. Girls' Camp was a couple weeks ago. It was very fun, and strengthened my testimony so much. I can't wait until next year.
3. I had a very crazy day today. And I mean really, really crazy. But so far, the ending has been good. I just hope it stays that way.
4. I got a haircut this Wednesday! It's really cute. I now have layers and bangs.
5. I'm looking forward to next week. It'll be filled with 36 hours of dance camp; from 8 in the morning until 8 at night for three days, and a vacation to a full on dude ranch. What's not to like?

Friday Favorites
1. I got a bunch of dance stuff yesterday. Also, an awesome pair of dark blue and neon pink shoes. They're so awesome! But sadly, they don't match my neon pink shorts.
2. So far, I've had a totally lazy summer. It's nice to have one unoccupied week before I get really busy.
3. I'm looking forward to Girls' Camp next week. It's going to be a blast!
4. I discovered that I'm a great Tex Richman doo-wop girl. Don't ask.
5. I finished all of my 20-something library books in pretty much two days, and now I'm searching for new ones. The "favorite" part of this comes in when my mom lent me a medical thriller that reminds me a bit of Dick Francis, and actually is quite enthralling. I need to finish it, though. I set it down after about an hour and about 170 pages.
6. I got a new dresser the other day. No more crammed clothes! Yay!

Friday Favorites
So, last week I kinda sorta accidentally forgot to do Friday Favorites. Oops. Oh, well, I'm doing them this week, and there's lots of stuff to put on the list.
1. School is officially over for summer. That one deserves a large hurrah, to be sure.
2. Yearbook day was yesterday, and everyone got their yearbooks. This doesn't really sound like a big deal, but I was on Yearbook Staff this year, and put a lot of time and effort into helping make the book.
3. Yesterday, I got as many signatures per class in my yearbook as I could. I'm really going to miss everyone, and my school. Even some of the seventh graders, though I hate to admit it.
4. Wednesday, all the 8th graders went to Lagoon. We got to stay there from about 9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., and it was super fun. I hung out with my three besties, and we went on all the big and scary rides possible, as many as we could. They included Wicked, Samurai, this huge new roller coaster that was just added that I don't know the name of, etc. We wanted to go on the Rocket but we didn't have time.
5. While at Lagoon, I ate Arby's. This in itself is not shocking, but the fact that I didn't find a finger in my sandwich is. Google it if you are confused.
6. I learned how to make a campfire with a flint stone and knife while certifying for Girls' Camp. It took a while, but it was surprisingly easy.
7. I had five finals on Tuesday, and passed them all, three of the five with above 100% due to extra credit opportunities, and the other two with an A. I was freaking out, so it's a miracle I passed any of them, let alone all of them.
8. I am looking forward to going to the library today. That's always fun. Yippee!

Friday Favorites III
Yeesh, the weeks go by so fast. One week just blurs into the next. Really, the past week has been surprisingly uneventful. However, I have managed to scrape together a handful of favorites.
1. We are done with End of Level Testing. (I'm actually not entirely sure if it is capitalized or not, but they're so intimidating they deserve capital letters.)Anyway, they're also called CRTs, and if I hadn't mentioned before, they're OVER. For reals. (Insert victory dance, courtesy of my brother, Big, here.)
2. My siblings, who have been extra annoying this week, are surprisingly not dead. Now that's an accomplishment. I think this is deserving of applause.
3. It was Big's birthday yesterday. The big 5. Quite an occasion.
4. I have so far managed not to fall over from exhaustion. Again, an astounding statement.
5. I have amazing friends who don't put grass in my hair (sometimes), don't squish my Goldfish crackers (most of the time), and put up with my craziness (all the time). Thanks, guys!
Like I said, it's only a handful, but hopefully there's more to come next week.

Friday Favorites
Okay, so once again, I am posting my Friday Favorites, luckily on time, this time.
1. We performed our final Seussical performance on Monday, after another successful weekend of performance. My mom posted about our closing night. Click here and ignore the embarrassing/slightly snarky comments.
2. After our Saturday performance, we had a fabulous cast party, until reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally late at night. It was absolutely crazy, and extremely fun.
3. The morning following the aforementioned party, I got to go to work with my dad and see a amazing choir performance with all the behind the scenes jazz as well. Purty darn spiffy, if you ask me.
4. I got braces. Not exactly one to put on a "favorites" list, but last I checked, there wasn't a "at the moment I don't really like it but I'll be glad I had them someday" list in sight. My mom also posted about this as well. Click here if you aren't squeamish at the sight of extreme horror and metal detector upsetting ugliness. I have officially earned myself the nickname 'fence face.'
5. I am currently not (really) affected from getting braces and a minimal amount of sleep. So what else is new? (Actually, this is a miracle unto itself, if you ask me.)
6. Life is good. I am astounded I can say this, but somehow, I can. That's always a plus.
This is quite a pitiful list, (pathetic, really) but it will have to do. Signing off until next week! That is, as long as my brain, which currently is functioning as if it were the size of a walnut, remembers. Oh, well. Toodles!

Friday Favorites (on Saturday)
Wow. First time of this and already I'm doing it a day late. This doesn't really start my future Friday Favorites blogging off on a good note. But hey, I was busy performing all night last night. I'm afraid this post might be slightly performance oriented, but here goes.
1. As I mentioned before, I have performed four times this week. Once, the previous Saturday for a ballet performance, and then the other three times I performed the school musical for several random audiences. I'm looking forward to another tonight.
2. I am officially done with ballet, at least for a year, as of Saturday.
3. I did not (thankfully, and somewhat surprisingly) mess up horribly last night at the evening performance.
4. I got to pass out programs and take tickets last night when the doors opened. It was really fun, and I got to wear my Bird Girl/showgirl headdress. I got a lot of little kids asking me if I was a bird, and then staring at me like I was about to explode when I said that I was. Somehow, I got the impression that they didn't believe me. Thankfully, my full costume convinced them.
5. I have not gone crazy yet. This sounds like a given, but, with 3:00-8:00 practices after school plus homework and no food can do that to a person. So, really, it's quite an accomplishment.
That's all I can think of at the moment. Kind of pathetic, actually, but it'll do for now.

Friday Favorites??????
Hi folks! I've decided to start posting on my blog again, after a hiatus of I don't really know (or want to know) how long. Let's just say it's probably a couple years. Anyway, to keep me motivated and my few remaining readers informed, I have been considering following in my mother's footsteps and doing Friday Favorites. I set up a poll (kind of a nifty little gadget really) on the side of my blog, so you can vote on what I should do. But hurry! You can only vote until April 20th!

Hello Again!
Yikes! I really haven't posted in a while. Life is wonderful, and totally changing. I am quitting ballet and just barely (as in literally 5 minutes ago) got the news that I was accepted onto the competition dance team of the high school I'll be attending this Fall. I am totally stoked! Shocked, as well, because I honestly did not expect that. Hopefully this means I'll have a little more time at my disposal after school. Yikes times two! That's a new concept. What will I do? I have a feeling I'll figure something out pretty quickly. Or at least my new teachers will. Homework alert! Oh, well. It was a stellar end to a stellar week. (Now I sound like my mom. She uses 'stellar' all the time. Heck, maybe I'll go the whole hog and start doing Friday Favorites too. Then again, maybe not.)

Medieval Feast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today was the medieval feast! I had been awaiting this day ever since first grade, so it was a big, HUGE event. My grandma had helped me make my dress the night before (it was purple, with a floral panel down the middle), so I was all set. First was the coronation of the kings and queens of our grade. They had to take some oaths about ruling their 'kingdoms' well. Then was the catapult contest. There were awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and lots of launched marshmallows. After that we went back to class to watch a movie. Finally, it was time for the feast. Everyone filed into the gym, which was decked out in traditional medieval flair. The kings and queens sat up on the stage. Table by table got food. There was cheesy bread, rolls, pumpkin bread, scones, grapes, chicken, cantaloupe, bananas, cheese, crackers, more scones, ginger ale and fruit juice, etc. We were supposed to be the entertainment for the king and queen, so we ate while expecting to be chosen. If some came unprepared or had a performance that did not please the royals or nobility (which some did) they had to do a certain amount of push-ups. I was doing a dance with some friends (ballet) so I waited and waited for our group to be called. I waited through a guy beat-boxing while humming through his nose and several piano performances, until finally we were called. It just so happened that two of my friends were in the bathroom washing off sticky hands, so we had to wait while a guy sang 'Don't Stop Believing' until my friends came back. The performance went well for the most part, though I messed up badly. Everyone still told us we did good, and no one noticed that I messed up. Too bad it's over!
